Rien
Since I'am using CCleaner Free version 5.00.5050 64 bits version I notice that every time again it takes a long time (about 1 minute, in the past only 2-3 seconds) before I can make the choice for Analysis or Cleaning. What is the reason and is there a way to solve that?
Moderators mta Posted December 10, 2014 Moderators Share Posted December 10, 2014 what is your OS version and AV software? do you use winapp2.ini or any other CC enhancement? does the problem persist when CC is run from Safe Mode? hlsathaven
I also recently updated CCleaner to v5.01.5075 and note that it takes about 72s for the 'Analyse' option to become available; prior to the update this was virtually instantaneous. I'm using Win7 Home Premium 32-bit, with MS Security Essentials as my AV software. I don't use any other CC enhancement. There is a copy of winapp2.ini, in my 'D:\Program Files\CCleaner' folder, which has a file-size of 760KB and a very recent date. This is the first time an update has caused this slowdown. New info (moments later):- I deleted the winapp2.ini file and it solved the problem!
Moderators mta Posted December 29, 2014 Moderators Share Posted December 29, 2014 winapp2.ini is an enhancement. when present, not only does CC have to go through its native set of items to clean (from winapp.ini), it also has to go through winapp2.ini (which is not officially supported by Piriform). since the winapp2.ini can get quite large, and contain many items not relevant to your system, using the trim.bat process is recommended to only leave behind those items that are found on your PC.
