Revised Entry

Removed RegKey1=HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows Search\VolumeInfoCache

It is not part of Indexing. I made a separate entry for this, which is listed below.

I think we can just use 1 detect in Office More now, since it is all them in 1 now. So Detect=HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Office should work.

I think we should keep all of the Detects. I have seen HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Office path on a system that never had Office.

You did a great job rearranging the entries in Winapp2.ini. I know it was not an easy thing for one person to do all of that by their self.

Thank you. It is OK, as I enjoyed doing it (though I don't think I will be doing that again anytime soon lol), but knowing that I was helping everyone who uses Winapp2, really helped with morale.

  • 2 weeks later...

We are planning on licensing Winapp2, as we have had some requests from other programs to use Winapp2. This shouldn't change much for most people. Please read and discuss here: https://github.com/MoscaDotTo/Winapp2/issues/86

Please take a look at the registry data. I have uninstalled Ashampoo Snap, Ashampoo Burning Studio 2017, Ashampoo Burning Studio 18, Foxit and Acrobat from my system a long time ago, but some traces of these programs are still in the registry paths listed below. I think we should add [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main\FeatureControl] into the [internet Explorer More*] entry.

Some antivirus software adds stuff in there too, not sure what would happen if it were removed.

One example is Avira Free Antivirus adds this in there:

By clearing "FeatureControl" entirely/completely, the question in my mind is what about those entries that are there for programs that are currently installed?  Does it cause IE to no longer use or recognize them?

Some antivirus software adds stuff in there too, not sure what would happen if it were removed.

One example is Avira Free Antivirus adds this in there:

I have been testing this for the last few weeks. There is no harm by removing these traces. Needed paths get re-created.

Well, looks like my motherboard is fried on my PC. I am currently on a really bad laptop. This laptop cannot load github or any large websites for some reason. I am afraid I have to put Winapp2 on hole for awhile until my new motherboard is here, which won't be for another 2-3 weeks. I am sorry to have to do this. I can still communicate through the forums, though.

I am a maintainer for Winapp2. I also have a open-source group on Steam.
