  • 6 months later...

ccleaner deletes by default the connections.txt from teamviewer 9.

That is really bad becouse it is the only source for the teamviewer manager.

The teamviewer manager adds all hours I support my clients.

Now I cannot send bills for about 3 month of work to my customer.

Thank you for deleting important DATA!

if the file you mention is the file that needs to be kept, why not add it to the EXCLUDE list.

what are your versions of CC and TeamViewer ?

is CC also deleting your TV login info, as with the original poster ?

I have used CCleaner & TeamViewer (various versions of both programs) together for over 2 years and have never had CCleaner damage TeamViewer in any way or delete the login.

The Connections.txt file you mentioned is located in C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\TeamViewer and is intact on both of my 2 Win7 PCs.

TeamViewer is listed in CCleaner on the Applications tab in the Utilities section.  That box is checked on my PCs but still has never touched the Connections.txt file or affected the login.

By chance do you have any Custom Files and Folders set that might include C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\TeamViewer?

This is what CCleaner removes if TeamViewer is selected:

[TeamViewer]
ID=2395
LangSecRef=3024
Detect=HKCU\Software\TeamViewer
Default=True
RegKey1=HKCU\Software\TeamViewer\Version9|MRU
FileKey1=%ProgramFiles%\TeamViewer\*|*.tmp|RECURSE
FileKey2=%LocalAppData%\VirtualStore\Program Files*\TeamViewer\*|*.tmp|RECURSE
FileKey3=%ProgramFiles%\TeamViewer\Version9|Connections_incoming.txt
FileKey4=%AppData%\TeamViewer|Connections.txt
FileKey5=%AppData%\TeamViewer\MRU\RemoteSupport|*.tvc

I looked at the contents of Connections.txt and it appears to be nothing more than a log of past connections.  Running CCleaner does remove this file, but causes TeamViewer no problem on my 2 PCs.

I ran CCleaner and then started TeamViewer.  It logged itself in with no problem.

I think Nikki that was @tomas_hh problem, CC cleaned that file and he lost his ability to determine what to charge his clients.

Even if he was using the Pro version of CC (and I think the free version of TeamViewer shouldn't be used for commercial purposes either without a license - but I could be wrong), it still would have wiped his file.

Just goes to prove to check the default settings of any program, especially a cleaning type.

And in CC's case, do an Analyse first to see what is going to be effected.
